Cookie management policy

01

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when visiting a website. It allows the site to store certain information about your visit: language preferences, visit statistics, state of a form, etc.

This policy describes the cookies and trackers used by the fermelux.lu website in compliance with the European ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the recommendations of the Luxembourg CNPD.

02

Categories of cookies used

We use three categories of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies: essential for the operation of the site (security, display of the chosen language, recording of cookie consent). They do not require your consent.

Audience measurement cookies: allow us to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, duration, journey). Data is aggregated and anonymised.

Third-party and advertising cookies: only placed with your explicit consent. They may come from integrated services (videos, maps, social networks).

03

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are placed automatically and do not require your consent:

next-locale — stores the chosen language (FR/DE/EN/PT). Duration: 1 year.

cookie-consent — stores your choices on the cookie banner. Duration: 6 months.

sb-session — session maintenance for the security of the quote form. Duration: session.

04

Audience measurement cookies

These cookies are only placed after obtaining your consent via the banner displayed on your first visit:

Vercel Analytics — anonymised audience measurement, no identifying personal data. Duration: 24 h.

_ga / _gid (Google Analytics 4) — visit statistics and understanding of user journey. IP address anonymised. Duration: 13 months maximum.

If you refuse these cookies, you can continue to browse the site freely without any loss of functionality.

05

Third-party cookies

Some pages integrate third-party content which may place their own cookies if you interact with them:

Google Maps (only on the Service Areas page) — display of the service map and location of the workshop.

YouTube (possible videos in guides and blog) — loading of a video player in enhanced privacy mode.

Facebook Pixel / LinkedIn Insight — only if you have given your explicit consent for targeted advertising.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy, independent of that of Fermelux.

06

Retention period

The maximum retention period of a cookie on your device is 13 months from its first placement, in accordance with the recommendations of the Luxembourg CNPD. Beyond this period, your consent is requested again.

07

Managing your consent

On your first visit, an information banner allows you to accept, refuse or customise non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored for 6 months and may be changed at any time.

To change your preferences after your first choice, click on the "Manage my cookies" link available at the bottom of the page.

You may also block cookies directly via your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Note however that some functionality of the site may be impaired.

08

Complaint

If you consider that the use of cookies by fermelux.lu does not respect your rights, you may at any time lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD):

15, boulevard du Jazz, L-4370 Belvaux
